TEACHING GRAMMAR TO TEENAGERS: DRILLS OR COMMUNICATIVE METHOD

I am an English teacher and I need someone to give me their opinions on the teaching of grammar to teenagers. I have taken so many courses on communicative practices to learn English grammar but have just realised that they need a lot of drills too. This is making me crazy since all my lesson plans are based on communication and now I think I should change and include many drills. What do you do in your class? Do you try to combine both?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Here is my experience. The teachers' bosses want only communicative lessons, with no explicit grammar. The good teachers include explicit grammar lessons.
