Hello everyone,
I am teaching English to the non native speakers for the first time and had some questions regarding it.
I just had the 1st introduction class with them and although they do have some knowledge about basic grammar, they need to work on their tenses, prepostions etc
My question is do I start with the forms of verb {Finite/Nonfinite} before I start tenses? or do I finish with the tenses first?
My aim is to hold more conversations with them but without the proper knowledge of tenses and verbs , unable to do so.
I would really appreciate some inputs from those who have an experience of teaching ESL learners.
Thank you.

What is the difference between 'finite' verb and 'tense'? I don't think that you have a very good handle on grammar yourself.
Start with common verb forms

Yes, you must teach them with the forms of verbs first because no one can able to learn the tenses properly without having the knowledge of verbs. Firstly teach them with the basic part and then proceed further for the advance part. So that they will able to learn the things properly.
