Teaching assistant

I am searching for a term that describes an undergraduate student who helps to a professor of a certain departement and who is paid for it. So, I am not sure if I mistaken this job description for a teaching assistant one's, who is a member of an academic staff. Is there any other more appropriate term such as teaching fellow or something else?

Thank you in advance!!!

It depends on the institution as to the qualifications of a teaching assistant. As I recall, we had these terms for employed students: undergraduate/graduate teaching assistant, research assistant, laboratory assistant.
