Hi, teachers.I transcribed one of the questions in an interview with an economic experts which I hardly understood first time and replayed several times.Could you tell me what the interviewer says at the highlighted parts in my transcript that leave me non the better? "and a lot of us are sort of like the kids in the back of the car that say 'When are we going to get there?'" I wish this guy would mind what he's saying. He meant "the kids in the back seat (of the car)", and those kids say "Are we there yet?", not "When are we going to get there?" These kids are part of the American cultural landscape, pestering their parents on a long drive because they're bored.

"people were saying maybe by the end of this calendar year" The calendar year ends at the end of December. He says "calendar" because there is also a fiscal year that ends arbitrarily, and they are talking economics.

"and then there was the first quarter of" He is using that old Howard Stern stutter-slur that many talking heads imagine makes whatever they say sound important and true. In reality, he talks so fast and so indistinctly that he barely forms some of the words.

Right. The graph of many real-world phenomena form what is called a bell curve after its shape. The distribution of IQ over a populace is a well-known example. I don't know what phenomenon he is referring to, and I suspect he doesn't, either.
