DAMON CIRCOSTA

(NORTH CAROLINA STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS CHAIR)

Well, so the good news in North Carolina is we start doing everything to authenticate your ballot if it's absentee vote by mail five weeks ahead the election. So every week, uh, Board of Elections members in the counties get together in a bipartisan fashion, make sure that (1?????)all these ballots are the coming into us, our authenticated ready to go. We will then do everything to prepare them for tabulation, and then tabulate them on Election Day. So in North Carolina on Election Day, you will see tha vast majority of votes, uh, already tabulated. What won't be tabulated is people who are sending in their absentee vote by mail late, uh, any provisional votes, (2?????)and those who come in over the, uh, corresponding days after the election. You, you have to remember we do not call the election on election night (3?????)that you usually folks in the media. What we do is just... we begin our process, and then goes to (4?????)county canvas which is ten days after the election, and then ultimately (5?????)to us to certify in early December.

(6?????)summary: In North Carolina, most of the ballots except some special cases will be tabulated on Election Day and we will verify the result in early December.
