Teacher x Higher Education

Hello. I would like to know if 'teacher' is the best word to use when speaking about higher education educators in general, that is, without any kind of concern about positions and so on.

Example:

English for Academic Purposes teachers often show concern about their students' will to succeed in such a competitive environment.

Thank you.

But if we search on the Internet, there is a lot of material about 'teachers in higher education', including texts from referred journals. What would be the reason behind that?

On the other hand, if we search with 'professors in higher education', there is a lot of material too, but it is just about 10% of the results of 'teachers in higher education'.

Teachers study and learn how to teach in institutions of higher learning. There are many types of teaching degrees and many journals for teachers on teaching techniques.
Perhaps that is the reason.
