I've taught elementary school and middle school math. Or

I taught elementary school and middle school math.

Talking about something that happened a decade ago. Should it be past tense or present perfect?

Do you expect that you will ever teach again? If so, you can use "have taught."

If you think your teaching days are all in the past, use "taught."

Ideally speaking, the first simply states the fact that the teaching has happened, and the second implies a specific time in the past established earlier in the discourse.
