Taste / is sweet

Can I say,

(a) The pomelo fruit is / tastes sweet. Yes
(b) The flesh of the pomelo tastes sweet.

Isn't redundant word to say, "pomelo fruit"? Or we accept it?

I felt odd for me, like do we say, "The hibiscus flower", right?

Usually we say "the pomelo tastes nice" without mentioning it's a kind of fruit or what it is. And we don't say "the hibiscus flower" but "the hibiscus".

It's better to say that in a context where you are giving a consequence,

eg The pomelo is so sweet that I can only eat one.

The pomelo is big and so sweet.

Tell me the consequence of its being so sweet.
