Task2 - Cars,televisions and fridges

Could you please help me check my essay? Thank you so much!!!

It is suggested that everyone wants to have a car, a television and a fridge. Do the disadvantages of this development for society outweigh the advantages

It is true that people are likely to own a car, a television and a fridge nowadays. In spite of some harmful effects from this trend, I believe there are more benefits than drawbacks.

On the one hand, using more and more technical products like these in daily life leads to some negative influence. First, an unhealthy lifestyle gradually forms among people because of the support of these facilities. For example, people probably prefer driving a car to the office to walking a short distance to bus stop and would rather watch television than do exercise, which make them become increasingly sedentary. Second, the growing use of electronic devices and engines producing a great amount of electronic waste and emission makes a considerable contribution on environmental pollution and global warming.

On the other hand, I support the view that there are a great deal of advantages which are more significant than disadvantages. Cars, televisions and fridges are useful inventions helping people save time and enjoy our life. It is obvious that cars enable people to move more flexibly from a place to another in a short time and limit the impact of extreme weather. Fridges keep food fresh for a long time so people find it unnecessary to go to market regularly as well as effectively reduce food waste. Moreover, an exciting film or a funny show is a time-saving choice for people to escape from the hustle and bustle of life and unwind after a hectic day.

In conclusion, I would argue that the advantages of technical products such as televisions, fridges or cars do outweigh the disadvantages provided that people use them properly.
