The diagrams illustrate the design of a machine generating electricity from wave energy and its possible locations.

Overall, the machine consists of five parts: two chambers, two turbines, and an electricity generator. It is the water and airflow that make this device function properly. As for the location options, there are two possible installation positions. One is near the shore, and the other is offshore.

The machine is constructed in a way that follows the wave direction. That is to say, the waves are supposed to come into the lower chamber, resulting in the rise in the water levels. Consequently, the air in this chamber is forced to flow upwards, while there is another air current that blows downwards. They meet in the upper chamber where contains the turbines, which makes them run and provide the energy for the electricity generator.

In terms of location options, if the machine is near the shore, the installation costs will be lower than being put offshore. However, the output is nowhere compared with that in the faraway position as the waves that provide the energy are much larger there.
