The bar chart indicates the percentage of people aged 25-34 who rent or bought a house in the UK over eleven years from 2004 to 2014.

Overall, the percentage of people who rent house during 2004 to 2014 has increased and the maximum point was about under 50%. Although the percentage of home owners has decreased and the minimum point was approximately under 40%.

The number of home owners declined considerably from about 60% in 2004 to under 40% in 2014. From 2005 to 2009 there was slowly drop about 5% and in 2011 and 2012 it stayed stable for about under 55%. After that the percentage went down every year and in 2014 hit its lowest point.

The amount of people who rent a hose in the UK went up substantially from 20% in 2004 to under 50% in 2014. From 2004 to 2011 the percentage was doubled and it was about 40%. The number was remained stable for two years in 2011 and 2012 and after that it climb to around 50% in 2014.

The total percentage of the two groups, renters and owners, was about 78% in 2004 and 83% in 2014. Around a fifth of this population neither rented nor owned their accommodations. The percentages of renters and homeowners are negatively correlated; the sum remained within a narrow range, averaging about 80%, over the period. The prevalent pattern was the consistent decrease of renting and corresponding increase of home ownership over this time period.
