Topic: Some people believe that studying at university or college it the best route to a successful career while others believe that it is better to get a job straight after school. Discuss both views.

After graduating from high school, students are struggling with whether continuing their study or working straight after school. While there are many benefits to higher education, there are also good reasons why it might be beneficial to earn money as soon as possible.

On the one hand, the option to continue education is attractive for several reasons. First, there are a lot of jobs that require academic qualifications. For example, a marketing planner is expected to have a large knowledge of advertising, even economics and many relating skills such as analysing which is only taught at university. Second, pursuing higher education guarantees a successful career for students. Looking for a job will be easier for those who graduate with flying colours while the job market is more and more competitive for every candidate.

On the other hand, there are some reasons why getting straight to work is beneficial in some ways. People who tend to work at a young age become more independent. The obvious advantage is that they can live on their own income without asking for money from their parents. Moreover, gaining a lot of experience is an important point. The more experience they have, the more opportunities they get to be promoted and the higher salary the could receive. Thus, they can afford a house and settle down earlier than their peers who keep going to school.

In conclusion, it seems evident that both studying university and working straight after school are advantageous in their own ways.
