Please check my essay! Thank you so much!!!

New technologies have changed the way children spend their free time. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

With the rapid development of technology, children currently spend a majority of their leisure time on technological devices. In spite of some harmful effects from this trend, I believe there are more benefits than drawbacks.

On the one hand, children are attracted more and more by a variety of games and TV shows on computers or smart phones, which means they are likely to spend less time on outdoor activities, such as exercises, sports or picnics. As a result, children are inevitably limited from improving their physical conditions and communication skills. Moreover, the number of children having eye disorders rises sharply because of keeping their eyes glued to screens. In addition, some kinds of games so addictive that youngster can not put them down and become neglected their study.

On the other hand, there are a great deal of advantages which is more significant than disadvantages. One reason for this view is that modern entertainment devices supplying educational games make an outstanding contribution to provoke children’s potential. For example, some games with intelligent structures support children to think more logically and flexibly, while TV series about music or art effectively promote their creativity. By means of social network, children find it more convenient to connect virtual friends all around the world and broaden their understanding. Besides, playing with electronic devices is also an effortless way of self-study. My five-year-old niece is kind of fluent in English thanks to watching English videos.

In conclusion, I would argue that the advantages of playing with electronic devices among children do outweigh the disadvantages.
