More and more students prefer going overseas to study. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of young people who decided to do this.

Solution:

Nowadays, the trend of going overseas to acquire knowledge among students is continuously increasing. From personal perspective, the benefits would outweigh the drawbacks.

There are many benefits that students could gain when attending schools overseas. The first one is that students living away from parents could promote self-reliance. In particular, they have to overcome different obstacles and daily matters, such as cooking, scheduling everything, or taking a part-time job. It would help them to improve a greater sense of responsibility. Another advantage is that they could be exposed to different studies in different teaching ways. In an international environment with diverse fields of study, students could gain knowledge from academic headers in high-quality courses. Hence, this could open more potential opportunities in terms of professional occupation.

In contrast to the above advantages, students studying abroad have to suffer from countless obstacles in their daily life. Psychological issues are considered the most serious ones when students have to adapt to an entirely new environment. In other words, culture shock and homesickness during the initial period could cause depression and poor performance in studies. The current problems could be more significant to these students not having practical experiences or the guideline of seniors. Furthermore, their families have to face financial burdens, especially in the absence of scholarships. The students must cover the expenses by themselves besides the cost of living and intuition fee. These drawbacks could make their study process more difficult.

In conclusion, studying abroad could bring several benefits to students, especially self-reliance and high-quality lessons. However, they must suffer from psychological problems or financial issues during the studying process, leading to poor academic performance and depression. In my opinion, these advantages and drawbacks would combine to form specific characteristics and personalities for students, which facilitates them in the future.
