As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, more and more business are building up and rung with the sole aim of maximizing profit. But some people argue that they should contribute more on society as their importance to social obligations. Whether businesses should place more on society or not? In my opinion, I completely agree that businesses need to do more for society than making money.
First, it is clear that businesses must take money in order to survive in a competitive world. It seems logical that the priority of any businesses should be to cover its running costs, such as employs wages, innovations or payment for utilities. Moreover, they always have a difficult challenge is to satisfy the customers' changing needs if they wish to remain successful last longer. Obviously, businesses can only give their hand on society when they are in good financial health unless any concerns about social responsibility become irrelevant.
Besides, companies should not be only concentrated on making money, but also contributing to society which is their apparent duty. One obligation that owners and managers have is to treat their employees well, rather than exploit them. For example, companies should pay for their employees' "living wages" to ensure that workers will have well living conditions. I also like the idea that businesses used a proportion of their profits on community activities, such as charity, environment project or education initiatives. Finally, instead of trying to minimize their tax payment by using accounting loopholes, I believe that businesses should be happy to contribute to society through the tax system.
In conclusion, I believe that businesses which are the main cause of economic development should place as much importance on their social responsibilities as they do on their financial objectives.
