Task 2 IELTS writing - please give me some feedback

Studies suggest that many teenagers these days prefer socializing online to meeting one another in person.

Why do you think this is the case?

What measures could be taken to encourage teenagers to spend more time meeting one another in person?

In today’s world, it is true that the young generation tends to have conversations and keep in touch with people through social media rather than direct meetings. There are multiple reasons for this situation but steps can be taken to solve the problem.

Teenagers would rather interact with people via the Internet because of two benefits. First, online communication requires less time and effort. To be more specific, instead of wasting time to make schedules and choose locations, children find it convenient to make use of their phones and start to chat with friends. Additionally, while children can only meet their friends in person, social media platforms provide them with numerous opportunities to make friends with foreigners. For instance, Facebook is a widely-used platform by people all over the world so people prefer using them to communicate with people who are in other countries.

However, I believe that several actions can be taken to encourage the young generation to have face-to-face communication. Parents need to supervise their offspring and limit their time using social media. Consequently, the children will spend their leisure time playing outdoor activities with friends rather than chat with them. Also, schools should hold more events and competitions to facilitate real interactions among students so that they can be discouraged from using their phones. At the same time, teachers can teach students to learn the precise values of in-person meetings.

In conclusion, although there are some causes leading to the children's preference for online interaction, I believe the coordination between parents and schools can tackle the issue and support more direct meetings among children.
