Topic: Some people think that job satisfaction is more important than job security, while some people think that they cannot always expect job satisfaction, a permanent job is more important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is common that making a decision about one’s career is difficult. Some people have been reluctant in whether choosing a stable job or opting for a career that they interested in. While permanent job can provide people with a tranquil life, I would argue that they could waste their lives without job satisfaction.

It is claimed by some that possessing job security may be beneficial. Since having a permanent job, they do not have to worry about the budget. Also, there is every likelihood that people can get promotion if they have been working for a long time. However, having a job without passion can only cause anxiety and thereby, reducing their work efficiency.

On the other hand, people with job satisfaction can work with their full potential. This is due to the fact that they are always in the mood for the job, they are likely to work hard and strive for more. For example, a child who is bad at science wants to become a scientist will probably try his best no matter what obstacles he may confront.

In conclusion, although having a stable job may have certain merits, people should follow their dream career.

A person can be working in his desired field, but be bored to tears or have a cantankerous supervisor and hate the working environment.) While a permanent job can provide people with a tranquil life, I would argue that they could waste their lives without job satisfaction.

Job security means that you are not in any immediate danger of being unemployed. You are assured that the job will be there for you for years. For example, if the company is going bankrupt, your job is not secure, even if you are the president of that company. Some people trade off job security for job satisfaction; they are apathetic about their job situation and accept that they will not very happy. Many older workers are in this situation because they do not have updated skills and cannot compete in the job market.

Job satisfaction could be a combination of many things such as an adequate salary, safe working conditions, pleasant and friendly coworkers, a short commute, interesting projects, flexible working hours, good benefits such as sick leave and vacation days, and the opportunity for education or advancement.

Of course, the ideal situation is to have a reasonable level of job security in a company that you are happy to work for. These two situations are not mutually exclusive!
