The bar chart illustrates the proportion of the total global population in four nations in two separate years 1950 and 2002, and the expected for 2050.

Overall, it is noticeable that the rate of the population in India increases, while there are projected to declines in the percentage of Chinese, Japanese, and the USA population. In addition, the figure for Japan is by far lowest during the research period.

In 1950, Chinese people accounted for the highest figure in the total global population, at 22%, whereas the figure for India is significantly lower, at 15%. There were 7% and 4% of people from the USA and Japan respectively. The years 2002, witnessed a slow rise, which occupied about 17% in the rate of the population in India, mean while China, Japan and the USA saw declines in their figure.

After 100 years, there is predicted to increase slightly to 19% in the figure for India. By contrast, the proportion of Chinese and Japanese population are projected to decrease dramatically to 15% and 1% respectively. At the same time, the figure for the USA is likely to remain stable, at 5%.
