The diagram below shows how the Australian Bureau of Meteorology collects up-to-the-minute information on the weather in order to produce reliable forecasts.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The diagrams illustrate the way in which up-to-date information is collected by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology in order to forecast the weather reliably.

Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that weather forecasting is a linear process. There are four main steps in this process, beginning with information collection and culminating with broadcast to the public.

It can be seen from the picture that the first step and second step is collecting and analyzing information from three sources including satellite, radar and drifting buoy. After analyzing incoming information from satellite, the outcome is presented as a satellite photo. Meanwhile, the same data of radar and drifting buoy are radar screen and synoptic chart respectively.

Next, the collective data from three sources above is saved in a computer to prepare the broadcast. At the final stage of the process, the forecasting information is delivered to the public on television, radio or recorded announcement.
