The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Given are two maps which show the center of a town called Islip; one representing its features now, and the other depicts its future developments.
Islip town center is now a combination of shops separated by the Main road at the north of the region. Below the shops are housing areas towards the south of the map. Also, there are two ways on the either side of the Main road towards the ends of the shops which go down to two facilities: a park on the right and a school on the left.
By comparison, in the planned development, apart from a school and housing at the south, the whole facilities are going to be encompassed by a dual carriageway. The center is bound to be separated by a collection of shops across the center in the middle. Above the shops is a path dedicated to pedestrians, above which are (from west to east) new facilities including a bus station, a big shopping centre, and a car park. To the right of the car park, there is also going to be a new housing area attached to the carriageway. Moreover, the current park will be made smaller in the development and a new hosing facility will be constructed beside it.
Overall, the whole center is expected to be encircled by a dual carriageway, within which new housing and facilities will be built.
