Hi,
Would you check the following report, please?
The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given bar graph illustrates the percentage of people having a house of their own and those who had rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011. Overall, the two figures, adding up to 100%, followed an opposite trend: while the number of tenants rose sharply over the span, there was a significant downturn in the number of families owning accommodation.
In 1918, about 77% of people lived in rented accommodation, and just 23% of them owned their own home. By 1953, the former declined to just below 70% and the latter exceeded 30%. As home ownership became more and more prevalent, homeowners living in England and Wales were divided equally in terms of living in rented and owned housing in 1971.
After 1971, those who owned a house outnumbered tenant households. By 2001, almost 70% of households lived in owned accommodation. However, the following next decade witnessed a minor setback in their proportion, to below 65%.

That is a nice model essay. The only comment I would make is that it comes in at 275 words, which might be too much for a non-native speaker in the twenty minutes available. The model answer provide by British Council on their website is just 185 words long, and reflects the instruction to select and report the main features; there is no need to cover all the features for IELTS purposes.
