The diagram shows the process by which milk and related products are produced.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features.

Write at least 150 words.

The diagram depicts the ways in which milk and dairy products are made. Overall, there are two main stages: the preparation of raw milk and the processing of it into pasteurized milk, cheese, cream and butter, which is eventually distributed to retailers.

In the first stage, domestic cows graze on grass and are milked by a machine twice a day. The milk is stored in large refrigeration storage tanks and loaded into a milk tanker, which delivers it to a dairy manufacturing plant once a day. The second stage is wholly mechanical with the milk being either pasteurized and packaged into bottles or turned into cheese, cream and butter by specialist machinery. Finally, the final products are transferred to supermarkets and shops, where customers can buy them.
