TASK 1: Charts

Please help me check this writing task 1

The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons when relevant

The bar charts illustrate the amount of household energy and household greenhouse gas emissions in Australia.

Overall, the majority of household energy use and greenhouse gas emissions was in heating, water heating and other appliances section. The largest proportion of Australians used household energy for heating at 42 percent, whereas this figure was the least in cooling at merely 2 percent. While water heating accounted for 30 percent, other appliances made up 15 percent, followed by refrigeration and lighting at 7 percent and 4 percent respectively.

With regard to household greenhouse gas emissions, water heating represented the highest percentage at 32 percent. The amount of greenhouse gas emitted from heating which stood at 15 percent was approximately double that of lighting. This ratio in cooling was the least at marginally 3 percent.

In conclusion, it seemed that the more energy Australians utilize at home in aforementioned sections, the more greenhouse gas was generated.
