The table shows data about the average length of time (in minutes) that people of different ages spend in a consultation with family doctors in a number of countries. Write a report summarizing the information. Select and describe the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The table contains data for the median assessing time a family doctor spends on different age groups in nine countries.
Overall, it takes longer to assess an older patient than a younger one, except in Brazil, Japan and India, where the pattern is partially reversed in two oldest groups. However, Kenya is an exception, with a completely reversed pattern recorded.
In the first twenty years in life, time spent on health consultation is relatively low, mostly clustering between 9 and 21 minutes per session, with Chile, an outlier with a huge 32 minutes spent. In the adult (20-40 years old) and middle-aged (40-60 years old) groups, consultation time is slightly higher, mostly ranging from 12 to 25 minutes, with Chile continuing to have the longest assessment time of up to 35 minutes on average.
By contrast, the consultation patterns for people aged over 60 are volatile. In five nations, namely France, the USA, the UK, Italy, and Chile, consultation time continues to rise as age grows, with an average time spent fluctuates from 15 to 39 minutes. However, Brazil and Kenya both see a marginal drop in time assessed, with an average of 21.6 and 13.5 minutes spent respectively. Meanwhile, Kenya follows a totally reversed pattern from the beginning, with the youngest (0-10 years old) take the most care (15 minutes) compared to the oldest (over 70) with the least time spent (10 minutes).
