Task 1

The diagrams below show the site of a school in 2004 and the plan for changes to the school site in 2024.

The two maps represent how a school site used to look like in 2004 and how it will change in 2024.

Regarding the circular area in which most buildings are located, there will have been several striking changes by 2024. Both school building 1 and 2 will remain unchanged, however, they will be continued with each other. Meanwhile, the path between them will also be shortened. In contrast, there located an enormous sport field to the East of the path in 2004, yet it is predicted to be destroyed to make ways for a new school building.

Looking at the diagrams in more details, the school is expected to teach 1000 students in 2024 which is a higher number than 2004. Otherwise, another car park will be built which will require the trees in the garden to be cut out. Nevertheless, there was not any road along the trees at all in the former year but it is planned to be constructed in the latter year which students can make their way to the would-be car park 2. The sports field, on the other hand, will be smaller and relocated to the end of the road while the main entrance, the left car park and the left road will not experience any changes.

Overall, numerous changes will be seen in the school site to serve a higher number of students, but the most noticeable ones must be in the building constructions.
