Tarry

Hi.
Can I rephrase
She was not anxious but puzzled that her husband tarried
as
She was not anxious but puzzled that her husband delayed in comming
?Or do I have to rephrase it as:
She was not anxious but puzzled that her husband delayed in leaving

?Thanks in advance!
