Target demographic

Is it 'target demographic ' or 'target demographics'?

Does demographic mean age group?
Thank you

It's difficult to say for certain, but I rather imagine that you want the singular. A 'demographic' could be age group, gender, nationality, just about any classification you can put people in.

does that mean there is a (completely)different meaning to demographic's' as a plural?

If you ask for the demographics of anything, it would probably entail more than one of the ideas I suggested earlier. No different from any other noun with a plural form.
