Tape/Tab

Is it correct to understand Tape -as "attach closely"? or "Tap" like a glue?

What is "Tab" here?

Tape one of the 80 grid belts that the machine comes with. There's a tab on the front side, and this tab allows the sharpening cassette to rotate forward.
