??? tape (as in adhesive tape)

The other day I was watching an episode off the TV series Law & Order where the victim mentioned the word tape (which was used around her body to tie her up to a chair). But she used a compound word instead of tape alone or adhesive tape, "something tape", it sounded like "duck" tape or something.

This may be trivial but it's been bugging me a bit.

You might notice in some of the images that there is a specific brand of duct tape called "Duck Tape."

The thing is, nobody ever articulates both the ts in duct tape, so it always sounds like duck tape.
