"tap" on a non-touch screen

Will it be horribly wrong to say "tap on an icon/button" when it's not a touchscreen?
I do realize that's a little bit off, but then I'm not sure if it's considered as entirely wrong or not.
Thanks:)

If it's not a touch screen, then tell the user to "click" not "tap."
