Tannic taste

Just was wondering, in informal spoken English, suppose you are eating out with friends and your food tastes unpleasantly tannic, what would be a correct way to announce it to everyone?

What would be a correct say to note it in a rather formal spoken situation?

Cheers
Al

"Does anyone notice an odd taste to their food?"

thanks, but i was after something specific identifying the exact taste of it, i.e. it being tannic.

Most people would not know what something "tannic" tasted like.

It would certainly be a coincidence if you food tasted wrong with one random flavor and mine tasted wrong with something completely different flavor. Simply saying that you notice an odd taste would be enough.
