Talkative

When some talks a lot we call that "talkative person" what do we call a matter when it's become popular mongst people or for some reason they always talk about that at least for the time being let's say "virginity" here india most people makes dispute of it do we say "talkative matter" or "talked about subject" I know I am not clear as I should be, but I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
