TALK SOME SENSE

Dear Teachers,

1. My new stepsister is probably gay.

- I think "gay" is used only for men, right? I think "l esbian" is better, right?

2. I don't know what to do about my sister cutting herself.

- "cut herself" here means "hurt herself", right?

3. Your question hit close to home, I have been in the same situation.

- What does "hit close to home" mean here?

4. All you have to do now is try to get her to stop and talk some sense into her.

- What does "talk some sense into her" mean here?

5. Is "jealous" always the same meaning as "envy"?

Thanks very much to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

It's probably literal. It's usually adolescent or teenage girls who are experiencing depression or other forms of mental who cut themselves.
