Talk about ancestor's relation.

My father's lineage is Chinese, but my mother's is Vietnamese, then I have relation between the two ethnicities.

How can you talk about ancestor's relation in more natural way.

The sentence above is my own word if I have to talk about it.

However, in a very natural English, I have no clue.

Can you give me some example of how to talk about this kind of topic naturally.

I'm afraid some of my word choices are ridiculous or awkward.

Just say

eg My father is Chinese, and my mother is Vietnamese.

eg I'm Chinese on my father's side, and Vietnamese on my mother's.(side).
