Taking for granted

Hi

When antibiotics no longer work against the pathogens that produce disease, we will be back at square one when it comes to treating infections. It seems we have been taking the mighty antibiotic for granted. The FDA has asked pharmaceuticals companies to voluntary stop selling antibiotics as livestock growth promoters, but the voluntary nature of this request suggests that the solution is not a strong enough measure.

Does it mean we do not value the power of antibiotics?
