Someone wrote on a community messageboard talking about people sped in his neighborhood, and here is one of the sentences:
'Many other people have written in complaining about speeders but we still have people taking corners on two wheels.'
Does 'taking corners on two wheels' mean speeding?
Because he was referring to car drivers who sped, wouldn't it be more appropriate to have said 'taking corners on four wheels'? Although I assume ' taking corners on two wheels' was the common expression for speeding.
Thanks.
Top answer
A car going round the bend at speed will be raised onto the two wheels of the off side by centrifugal force.
