Do I say,

1 He is taking a / the temperature of the boy.

2 He is taking the temperature from / for the patient.

Am I wrong to say this ways:

1 He is taking the temperature of the boy.

2 He is taking the temperature for the patient.

#1 is Ok. #2 is not. Only 'of' works.
