Takes/holds his chin in her hand

She takes/holds hin chin in her hand and tilts his face upward.

Hi,

Do both takes and holds fit in the above and mean about the same to you? Thanks.

Top answer

About the same, except of course that takes is an active process while holds is a stationary one. Logically, first she takes his chin, and then she holds it.
