Take versus Bring

Hi! Say I am living in the US but will be living on a deserted island in the Carribean for a few months. Which of the below is correct? I think number 1 as I am going somewhere. Thanks, Fulvio

1. I need to take my medicine.

2. I need to bring my medicine.
