take out a grand marriage procession

Ganpatrao, a potter, had arranged his song's marriage. He want to take out a grand marriage procession. He arranged for a brass-brand and went to Ahmed for his white horse. He requested Ahmed to decorate the house and keep it ready for the procession. Ahmed agreed to hire out the horse for four hundred dollars.

Please explain the meaning of "take out" in this context.
