Take meticulous/pedantic precautions

According to the dictionary, meticulous means showing great attention to detail and pedantic means giving too much attention to minor details.

I know these two words are not commonly used in everyday conversation. I want to learn how to use them in writing.

(1a) Corporate entrepreneurs always take meticulous precautions against unauthorized individuals who attempt to access their confidential business data.

(1b) Corporate entrepreneurs always take pedantic precautions against unauthorized individuals who attempt to access their confidential business data.

Do these adjectives "meticulous" and "pedantic" fit the sentence? Many thanks for your time and help.
