Hello,

me again ... I don´t understand the meaning of take it on in the following context ...

A dialogue about fears and nightmares .... and "I got over it, because I realized that if there was such a thing like a Headless Horse I could totally take it on ...

Could you please explain the meaning of take it on?

If my understanding of what you wrote is correct, it means: to be willing to stand up to (in attempt to overcome or to defeat) the headless horse.
