Take it easy

Take it easy

I have learned that there is no specific meaning in ‘it’ in the idiom.

I was wondering if there is some case where ‘it’ is considered as some situation or something as a pronoun like ‘Take life(=it) easy’?

What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much as usual in advance.

The idiom basically means "relax."

It can mean what is going on at the time, sort of, but "go easy" is better for that. Say a dog is stuck in a pipe, and you've got a rope around his hindquarters to pull him out with. An onlooker might warn you to take
