'Take it easy'

I have known that the speech part of 'easy' is an adjective in 'take it easy', but I have learned that of it is an adverb. But I still think it can be also considered to be an adjective or is it also possible to say 'take something (to be) adjectives'? Could you show me any examples if you do not mind? Thank you so much in advance.

Aspara GusI can run a mile easy / easily.
I was with you up till that last one. 'Easy' sounds wrong to me.

I don't like it much, either, but I don't think it's wrong, just informal. I should have mentioned that.

I am normally less prescriptive than you, but I am sticking with 'wrong' for that. It seems to me to be qualitatively different from your other 'easy' examples. all of which I agree with. (.. with all of which I agree?

Maybe it's an American thing, but I often hear this informal use of easy. Sometimes it sounds pretty good, better than the "correct" form, even, e.g., I was doing a 100 easy.

OK, I have to admit that it sounds better there.

Soooo great!! Thank you both and I think 'take something (to be) adjectives' is also okay to use like 'I take him to be honest.' or'I take him honest.' What do you think? Thank you as usual.

I take him to be honest is all right, but consider works better in the second one: I consider him honest.
