Tag question

Hi there! I'm again confused about tag questions Emotion: sad I got this example from Cambridge book.

A: I thought it was rude, didn't you?
B: Yes. It was very impolite.

I cannot understand why in the example "didn't YOU" is used if there is "I" in the statement. If it is just the attempt to get the responder's opinion I suppose it should not be a tag question:
A: I thought it was rude. Did you?
B: Yes, it was very impolite.

It is a different sort of tag question. There are various grammatically loose attachments to sentences that are also called tags: It's your birthday, am I right ? He said he was busy, and so on and so forth .
