"tactical position"

Hello, could someone please tell me the meaning of "tactical position" ? I thought it would be literally a kind of "position", but now I feel it is used as "tactical situation". Is this right?

Thank you in advance.

It is hard to judge without further context whether the position is a location or a situation or an attitude.

So you mean depending on the context, it could refer to location, or situation or attitude?

Mister Micawber,
i noted your comment on the web and I actually have the same question. Only my question does have specifics. I am a security officer in Australia and i am a registered instructor of small arms, expandable batons, handcuff retention, etc, and was recently asked to give a 20 minute tutorial on "Tactical Positioning' to a team of instructors.
