Tackle

Hi! I'm having some trouble figuring out the meaning of this verb.

‘‘Start you day by tackling your most important work’’.
‘‘Morning is the best time of the day to tackle your work’’.
‘‘So this is when you want to tackle jobs that need creative brainpower rather than standing on the stairs chatting. ’’

In American football, a tackle is when a player on the defensive team catches, grabs and throws the ball carrier (on the offensive team) to the ground, thus ending the play. The name of the player is a "tackle" and the verb is "to tackle."

When you tackle your work or problems, you hit them hard and (hope to) conquer them quickly.
