Topic: The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.
The table depicts the percentage of spending on three categories, namely Food/Drinks/Tobacco, Clothing/Footwear, and Leisure/Education in five different countries in 2002.
Overall, people had an inclination to spend most of their money on Food/Drink/Tobacco, whereas Leisure/Education attracted least investment of all categories. On the other hand, Turkish expenditure dominated two sectors, while Swedish spend least of all.
With respect to Food/Drinks/Tobacco, the expense of Turkish on this sector was the highest (32.14%), doubling that of Sweden, which had a smaller proportion than any of the other countries (15.77%). A similar pattern for Turkish expenditure was observed in Leisure/Education, with a figure of 4.35% reported, as opposed to just nearly a half of which in Spain (1.98%).
Concerning Clothes/Footwear, spending of Irish, Spanish, and Turkish averaged around 6.5%. Meanwhile, Italy had the highest expenditure level for these commodities, with a total spending of roundly 9.00%, which was 150% higher than that of Sweden, with only 5.4% of money spent in 2002.
