I'd like to address these questions to those who (at least occasionally) deals with system administrators :-)
(1) Which form do you usually use in spoken E., (1) system(s) administrator, or (2) sysadmin?
(2) Do you agree that 'sysadmin' may sound TOO informal (or even offensive) in certain cases?
(3) My younger coworkers hardly ever use 'system administrator' and, worse still, prefer 'sysadmin' to 'admin' :-)
Is there such a word ("admin") in spoken English? I have checked a bunch of online dictionaries (with the help of the OneLook service)... none of the dictionaries mentions 'admin'...
Thank you!
