SYNTAX Compound sentence

"I enjoy cooking because it makes me happy." Is this a compound sentence? Is the conjunction 'because' a co-ordinating conjunction or a sub-ordinating conjunction? Are there two independent clauses i.e. 'I enjoy cooking' and 'it makes me happy'.?

Many thanks

'Because' is a subordinating conjunction, so it is a complex sentence with only one independent clause. The coordinating conjunctions are: ' FANBOYS ': F or- A nd- N or- B ut- O r- Y et- S o.
